Ugandan activists are preparing to hold a Pride march during their country’s second Pride Week, which runs until Aug 5. Ugandan gay rights activist Frank Mugisha told Xtra‘s Andrea Houston about the plans when he sat down with her for a recent interview in Toronto (see video).
Mugisha also spoke about Uganda’s first Pride Week, which took place in 2012. Activists then waved rainbow flags in defiance of the country’s anti-gay laws despite the potential for violence and arrests.
