Gay-rights activist and filmmaker Ryan James Yezak has just released the follow-up to his viral The Gay Rights Movement video, which hit the web last year and quickly became a hit for its compact and heart-wrenching montage of the highs and lows of queer history. I just watched it again and I teared up like a little bitch.
His latest video, The Gay Rights Movement Part 2: National Gay Blood Drive, touches on the FDA’s antiquated and fear-mongering ban on gay blood (in Canada, gays can donate blood so long as they haven’t had sex in the past five years).
In the face of such blatant bigotry, Yezak not only asks do you want my blood or don’t you, but why the hell not?
