VIDEO: Activists stand up to opponents of anti-bullying bill

Queen's Park protests full of emotion

A group of queer activists stood up to opponents protesting Bill 13 at Queen’s Park on March 29. Among other things, the proposed bill would allow all Ontario students to form gay-straight alliances (GSAs) in their schools, including in Catholic schools.

“Catholic schools are publicly funded, so I’m not going to stand for discrimination on public dollars,” said counter-protest organizer Christin Milloy. “It’s completely unjust.”

The protest against Bill 13 was organized by Concerned Catholic Parents of Ontario, but it attracted a mix of anti-gay religious protesters.

Ontario MPPs are currently debating Bill 13.

Below is a video report from the protest and counter-protest.
