From ghouls to glamazons, Donna-rama loves to face the music. She’s been performing locally (with a stint in a Vancouver) for almost 10 years and her impersonations run the gamut from Courtney Love and Cher to Madonna and Barbra Streisand.

A career highlight includes being part of the Madonnathon for CityTV’s Electric Circus and managing to meet Madge in the flesh. “She was sitting there with no top on,” says Donnarama. “And when we were leaving I heard her say, ‘She doesn’t look like me at all.'”

Checking how to spell her name, she emphasizes that Donnarama is one word, “like Versace or Goodwill.” In addition to being one of the Queen Of Halloween contestants, Donnarama performs Tuesday nights at George’s Play and joins Chris Edwards for that bar’s Sun, Oct 31 Halloween party where she’ll do “Barbra back from the dead” and a tribute to The Ring and The Excorcist. She hopes to also join in on the street mayhem. “It’s my favourite time of year.”
