Bloc Party’s Kele releases solo video, set to tour Canada

Kele Okereke, frontman of indie rock band Bloc Party, is going solo with a dancey edge. Check out his first video, “Tenderoni,” from his upcoming album The Boxer:

Some YouTube comments on the video have compared the song to “Yeah Yeah” by Bodyrox and “Perfect (Exceeder)” by Mason vs Princess Superstar. Whatever its influences, “Tenderoni” is a hot dance track. The chorus is so catchy!

The gay singer recently appeared on the covers of Butt Magazine and Attitude, which ran the headline, “Bloc Party’s Kele comes out fighting: ‘Can’t we have a gay pop star who is edgy and tough?’”

Check out Kele on tour this summer. His Canadian dates are:

July 29. Toronto. The Mod Club Theatre.
July 30. Ottawa. Capital Music Hall.

July 31. Montreal. Osheaga Festival.
