I love reffing. I ref for a local league – the all-girl politics, the amateur level, the pettiness and the bullshit are all pretty much par for the course. But capitalizing on this grassroots sport, which has seen a resurgence in the last 10 years, is a fucking pain in my side. Fuck the dumb dudes who think they can pack derby arenas to capacity! And make dollars! Off! Our! Asses!
