Popping culture: The life of a chubby-chaser

I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t really like “reality” television. I’ll also be the first to admit that I would watch the highlight reels of Jersey Shore on Gawker, but that’s only in the interest of journalistic integrity in the realm of pop culture. I gotta know what the kids are talking about, don’t I?

MTV is no longer “Music Television,” and it could be argued that it helped create the “reality tv” genre with shows like The Real World. Instead of videos such as “Papa Don’t Preach,” we have real Teen Moms. But there is one show I would consider watching.

In this episode of the series True Life, we meet Justin, who is a self-proclaimed chubby-chaser. I’d be interested to watch this episode and see if, where and how it intersects with bear/cub culture as well as with gainer/feeder culture.

Or it could just be a shit show. This is MTV, after all.
