It’s almost time to say goodbye . . .

Every once in a while, I get a lovely treat on my Facebook wall: a new episode of Jack in a Box by Michael Cyril Creighton.

But today, it was a little bittersweet. Creighton posted that after this one, there would be only one more episode to come.

Insert sad face here.

I contacted Creighton to get the scoop:

Can you tell me how it feels to have only one more episode?

Great. And scary. But mostly great. Actually . . . mostly scary. It changes from minute to minute. Creating this show for the past three years has been a really important and huge part of my life. It was instrumental in my development as an actor and writer. And it has flown by. I never intended to go this long, but I just couldn’t stop. It’s kind of like my thing with tacos. Just. Can’t. Stop. But now, it’s time to stop and figure out what my next thing will be. Luckily, when this is over I have a play that I’m in that goes up in October in New York. It’s called Blood Play by The Debate Society. So that will keep me busy for a bit while I figure out what I’d like to create next.

What can people expect?

I’ll finally get naked and every character is going to be killed off Final Destination style. I hired a special effects person. It’s so, so awesome. Also . . . I’m lying about all of that. I like to think of it as just another episode . . . which happens to be the last. And hopefully it will move some people. I think the series finale will leave people asking a lot of questions. I didn’t want to make the future of the character too clear. I, of course, know what happens after the series ends. But I’d like to leave it more open to interpretation for the audience.

(Possible spoiler alert!)Do Beau and Jack finally bleach each others’ hoops?

What a great idea for a spinoff. (No.)
