Ottawa goes wild for Pride parade

Largest number of participants in parade's history, says Pride chair

Hunky dudes spraying the crowd with water guns. Men spanking each other with paddles. Dykes racing down the streets in motorcycles. These were just a few of the fabulous sights at Ottawa’s Pride parade on Aug 26.

“This was the longest parade in our history,” says Gordon Boissonneault, chair of Capital Pride. More than 800 people participated in this year’s event.

But hard bodies and partying aside, what does Pride mean to people in Ottawa?
