Montreal’s gay twink porn enterprises

Homegrown sites offer lots of variety, quality and quantity

I’ve known a group of young pornographers in Montreal who operate squirtz.com, videoboys.com and jeremyroddick.com for a while, because a lot of the Montreal talent I’ve worked with has appeared on their site. Boys I’ve talked to speak highly of how they are treated and compensated by this company. Perhaps Videoboys is Montreal’s friendly neighbourhood pornography enterprise.

As I’ve said before, good quality membership sites seem to be going out of fashion, replaced by massive pay-per-views or free sites like gaytube.com and pornotube.com. But I’ll still hang in there, as an old-school porn enthusiast, and check out membership sites if they’re hot.

A membership to Videoboys gets you free access to the two other Montreal-based sites, (plus two more generic “content-bank” sites: MaximoLatino and CruiserBoys) and I checked out all of them thoroughly.

I’m not personally a big fan of twink porn (even though I’ve produced tons of it), but these guys offer something for everyone: I gravitated towards jeremyroddick.com because the models were a little more diverse, and I like the whole pornstar-as-webmaster-as-marketer-as-pervert genre.

Roddick is a sexy twinkish guy with a big cock who clearly takes joy in his work — a gleeful and proud pervert. He seems to be good at recruiting, and one of his discoveries, Kobe Cash, is worth the monthly membership fee alone. I’ve read interviews with Roddick, and he’s a smart guy with a lot of technical skills; he handles a lot of the marketing and video editing for Videoboys.

Squirtz.com
is all solos, and what it has going for it is quantity and longevity. Go to the very beginning of the site — the first videos are dated April 2002. Connoisseurs of Montreal strippers (of the Taboo and former Adonis quality) will find this site fascinating, as most Montreal twink strippers have done a solo scene for Squirtz at some point. Rekindle your rough-trade memories by downloading the files.

Videoboys itself is really heavy on the twinks, and like JeremyRoddick and Squirtz, the quality of the video and photos is great. They always take the time to interview the models to let you get to know a little bit about them, and among all the twinks there are a few guys who have gone on to become much bigger stars — Pierre Fitch and Jessy Karson, to name two.

For me to like a membership site, it can’t be filled with generic content from all over. It has to have a base, a reality, a story that can be interpreted from tidbits: blogs, behind-the-scenes footage or interviews with the owners. Ian Duncan, one of the Videoboys proprietors, gives us just that. He’s a super-sexy guy from Hamilton who moved to Montreal years ago. His own blog at ianduncan.com is not linked from videoboys.com, but it is filled with fascinating behind-the-scenes stuff and his own writing and photography. Sometimes you have to dig deep to find the soul of porn operation, and in his blog — which I started reading in 1996 — I think you will find it.
