“It’s not that he doesn’t get us,” Wong-Tam says. “He hates us.”

The Toronto Sun released an audio recording of a rant by Rob Ford late yesterday, April 30, that includes an apparent reference to the Pride flag as a “their fucking flag.”

Some have criticized the Toronto Centre-Rosedale councillor for giving Ford too many chances to embrace the local LGBT community, but Wong-Tam has no regrets about her early position. Now, however, she is adamant that he has to go.
