Toronto man charged in Grindr-related assaults

Police are concerned there may be other victims

Toronto police have charged a 32-year-old man with allegedly drugging, sexually assaulting and posting photos of another man he met through Grindr.

The charges relate to three incidents that allegedly took place over the past year.

Toronto police allege that a 24-year-old man met a 32-year-old man over Grindr last year and was assaulted by him.

They also allege that on two separate occasions in April 2016 of this year, the 32-year-old man drugged the alleged victim and sexually assaulted him along with other men that the alleged assailant had invited to his home.

Constable Craig Brister says that so far no other men have been arrested or charged in relation to the alleged assaults.

Police are concerned there may be other victims and are asking anyone with more information to contact the police at 416-808-2200.

Asdrubal David Gonzalez Requena was arrested and charged on July 30, 2016, with two counts of sexual assault, three counts of assault, two counts of overcoming resistance by administering a drug, as well as publishing intimate images without consent, uttering threats and intimidation.
