As last month’s SlutWalk proved, Toronto is a city that loves its sluts. And like all forward thinkers, we inspired other cities to follow suit: satellite events have been held in Boston, Chicago and Seattle. They were even going to have one down in New York City, but it turns out they already do. It’s called The Sex and the City Hotspots Tour.
So, of course, it was only a matter of time before the mainstream media jumped on the story. Like the crotchety fun-suckers they are, Fox News organized a panel on Sean Hannity’s show to ask the hard-hitting question, “Does dressing like a confident, sexy woman mean you’re asking for strangers to rape you?” Normal people would say, “FUCK NO,” but Christian pop star and eventual rehab-patient Rebecca St James is not one of those people. She thinks if you go out wearing anything less than a nun’s habit, you’re a filthy prostitute and just begging to be raped. During Monday’s interview, she told Hannity:
I think there has to be responsibility, though, for what a woman is wearing. When a woman is dressing in an immodest way, in a provocative way, she’s got to think about what is she saying by her dress?
They’re asking for sex. They’re asking for sex if they’re dressed immodestly. (Source)
First off, let me just say: God bless this stupid bitch. My mockery thrives on the stupidity of others, and she is just a bottomless well of dumb that I can dip my pail in forever and ever.
It’s bad enough that we’re taking advice on a massive societal problem from a woman whose only contribution to society is writing pop songs for Jesus, but this bitch somehow thinks a T-shirt with a stupid slogan on it is going to stop rape from ever happening again. “Wait, what does that shirt say? Modest is Hottest? Wow, I never thought of it that way. I vow to never rape again!”
Fun fact: if someone is going to rape you, he doesn’t care what you wear. He does not care what it says on your shirt. All he cares about is whether or not he can overpower and degrade you. Let’s focus on that part instead of worrying about whether or not the dress a woman wears shows off her side-boob.
