Anti-gay baker denies lesbians wedding cake

Considering that a wedding consists of one moment of pure loving bliss sandwiched between crushing monotony, awkwardness and dry, bland chicken (I could have just checked salmon on the RSVP, but noooooo, there’s so much mercury in it, they said. Chicken breast is healthier, they said. Idiots . . .), you can see why everyone goes apeshit over the cake. Seriously, wedding cake is the best.

So you can understand why an Oregon lesbian couple was upset when a baker refused to sell them a wedding cake because he is “a Christian.” Not only is that blatant discrimination, but that motherfucker was bogarting wedding cake. OFF WITH HIS HEAD!

One of the brides-to-be filed a complaint against Aaron Klein, owner of Sweet Cakes in Gresham, Ore., last week after he allegedly told them he couldn’t make their cake because “they were abominations to the Lord,” KATU-TV, Portland, Ore., reported. Klein’s religious affiliation was not reported.

Klein Friday denied making the harsh statement, but did admit to KATU that he denied the couple service.

“I apologized for wasting their time and said we don’t do same-sex marriages,” he said. I “honestly did not mean to hurt anybody, didn’t mean to make anybody upset, (it’s) just something I believe in very strongly.”

“If I have to be to, I guess, be penalized for my beliefs, then I guess, well, that’ll be what it is,” he said. [SOURCE]

Now, some would argue that this is religious discrimination, but let’s think about this for a second, shall we? There are plenty of pro-gay, pro-equality Christians out there. I have no idea what the ratio of pro-gay to anti-gay Christians is, but the simple fact that you can be pro-gay and Christian would inherently mean that being anti-gay isn’t a part of being a Christian. So stop blaming your religion for your own personal opinions, A-hole.
