ACT appoints new executive director

Hazelle Palmer takes over in April

The AIDS Committee of Toronto has appointed Hazelle Palmer as its new executive director.

Palmer, currently the executive director (ED) of Planned Parenthood Toronto, will take over her new position in April. Glen Brown will continue as the interim ED until then.

Palmer has been ED of of Planned Parenthood Toronto for eight years. The organization provides healthcare services, counselling and education in sexual and reproductive health.

Palmer has also been on the board of directors of various organizations, including the Hassle Free Clinic, the Association of Ontario Health Centres, Education Wife Assault and the Canadian Federation for Sexual Health. She currently sits on the board of Women’s College Hospital.

She has also worked for the Women’s Television Network and as managing editor with Healthsharing Magazine. She has a master’s certificate in Healthcare Management from York University’s Schulich Executive Education Program.
