Get your Ontario Wood

Ontario wants to give you wood.

That’s the latest pitch from the Ontario Ministry of Northern Development, Mines and Forestry, which this week announced a new initiative to promote Ontario Wood.

We’re always excited about new initiatives to give people wood. In fact, here at Xtra and at our sister publication, fab, we have been producing Ontario wood for years. Not to mention the hard work done at Squirt and HardTV (NSFW) to spread Ontario wood around the world.

According to a press release from the ministry, “Ontario is the first province to introduce a brand for locally produced wood products.”

The ministry and the industry came up with an official Ontario Wood logo that will be stamped on all wood products this summer.

“Ontario Wood. The Natural Choice.”

I’m not sure why they didn’t stick with the already successful “Good Things Grow in Ontario” brand used by Foodland Ontario.
