Weekend to screen at Inside Out on Nov 20

Breakout, big buzz film will close the Ottawa-Gatineau film festival

The fifth annual Inside Out Ottawa-Gatineau LGBT Film and Video Festival is currently underway, running until Nov 20.

Among the films screening is Weekend, the breakout film by director Andrew Haigh.

The movie tells the story of two guys who hook up and spend the weekend having sex, drinking and doing drugs. The film has picked up numerous awards, including the Best Feature Audience Award at the Toronto LGBT Festival and a special award from Montreal’s Image + Nation festival for the lead actors.

Xtra‘s Peter Knegt interviewed the director. Below is a video report.

On occasion, the number of editors and other staff who contribute to a story gets a little unwieldy to give a byline to everyone. That’s when we use “Xtra Staff” in place of the usual contributor info. If you would like more information on who contributed to a particular story, please contact us here.
