While on the Today show discussing Anderson Cooper’s coming out, Star Jones said she thinks it’s all a ratings ploy for his daytime talk show, Anderson, just like when Oprah told everybody that she used to have aha moments high on crack.
“He’s a daytime talk show host,” Jones said during the Today’s Professionals segment of the show. “And when the ratings slip in daytime, the hosts tend to tell you lots of things about them. I remember Oprah said she smoked crack; Oprah said she was pregnant at 14 and considered suicide. There [are] times when you generate information for ratings.”
Of course, when Star says “generate information,” she means lie to the viewers, like by telling them you lost 10,000 pounds with diet and exercise, then alienating them by being the most garish bridezilla/beard ever.
