The Case of Rosie O’Donnell vs the Hot Dog

This weight-challenged star, who’s now on a new health kick, is trying to get the iconic fast-food stand Pink’s Hot Dogs in Hollywood to pull the popular wiener named after her. The new vegan convert is demanding that the stretch dog loaded with mustard, onions, chili and sauerkraut come off the menu!

Looks like after having a heart attack, newly vegan Rosie O’Donnell isn’t exactly flattered by Pink’s Hot Dogs’ “Rosie O’Donnell Long Island Dog.” After making the lifestyle switch, she has turned to Twitter and her blog to share how she is already losing weight and feeling healthier.

I’m so glad she’s gone vegan! I’ve been a vegetarian most of my life (instead of children’s books, my mom used to read to me from PETA’s monthly newsletter before bed). Maybe because of this, I see the connection between gay rights and animal rights. I think all gay people should, if not eat a vegetarian or vegan diet, at the very least educate themselves on where their animal products are coming from, because it can get kinda ugly out there. Since many gay people can identify with being mistreated, they should be able to recognize examples of that mistreatment, in all its various carnations, in the world we live in.

Now the real question here is how long until Rosie graces us with a haiku about all this?
