Popping culture: Sam Smith says ‘stay’ with David Letterman

Looks like Sam Smith is smoothly finding his way to the top these days.

As if having an album — The Lonely Hour — go to the top of the charts and Mary J Blige come by and sing with him at a recent show at New York’s Apollo Theater wasn’t enough, Smith decided to visit David Letterman while he was in the Big Apple, where he performed his latest single, “Stay With Me.” Check out the performance below, which left Letterman gawking.
