Myseum Intersections Festival

The third annual Myseum festival, which explores intersectional perspectives of Toronto through exhibitions, events and workshops, includes several projects on LGBT subjects. Additionally, this year’s theme of Arrivals and Departures looks at Toronto’s many communities, cultures and characters.

Lavender

Most new parties now, as always, are focused on men, so it’s great to see that one of the latest additions to the city’s queer party scene is geared towards queer women and non-binary folks. DJ Creshord spins, billing says “music from all your fav queers, and [the] Spice Girls.” The venue is accessible.

The Anvil

We work hard, we play hard. The party based on a reference to a fictional gay dance club in The Simpsons returns with yet another tribute to hardworking people everywhere. DJs Mark Falco and Alfredo spin. Dress code: “industrial gear” is encouraged. Hot stuff coming through! The venue is accessible.

Chantel Marostica: Live Album Recording

Comedian Chantel Marostica records two live performances for a comedy album, and you can be in the audience. Marostica has performed at the Just For Laughs festival, Toronto’s JFL42, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival and more. They’ve toured the country with their LGBT comic-focused Queer and Present Danger show.

Toastr: Sticky Cuts Birthday Jam

One of the city’s most popular dance parties for queer women and their friends returns, and this time around it’s also a celebration of DJ Sticky Cuts’ birthday. DJ Recklezz spins hip hop, R&B, dancehall and more. DJ Esther Benoit spins a deep and sexy house set. The venue is accessible.

Pup Social at The Drink II

The Black Eagle Kennel Klub hosts a low-key, laid-back gathering for kinky human pups and their handlers. There will be board games as well as card and trivia games on hand. Some of the titles include Code Names, Jenga, Coup, Star Trek Trivia and Cards Against Humanity. Attendees can bring their own games if they wish.
