Radicals: Sex Cinemas, Video and Porn
Daily Xtra columnist and author of Paris Demands Mike Miksche gets all tingly in the pants when a bunch of sex writers get together to read their work. At his new reading series, you too can feel tingly in the pants as you listen to some perverts — Bruce LaBruce, Shawn Syms, Sasha Van Bon Bon and others — tell stories about blowjobs and vaginas and stuff.
Wednesday, Dec 9, 7pm. Remington’s, 379 Yonge St. facebook.com/radicalreadings
Nightlife
Tapette Turns Cinq
Since his French dance party left its previous venue, DJ Phil V has been roaming the city like a popular rentboy with a pocketful of bus passes. Now this almost annoyingly sprightly little Napoleon is in the village temporarily, a baguette in one hand, a bowl of onion soup in the other, and the desire to make you dance in his heart. And there’s go-go garçons, and free Tapette buttons if you’re early.
Friday, Dec 4, 10:30pm. The Black Eagle, 457 Church St. facebook.com/tapetteto
Jockstrap
Some are smooth. Some are hairy. Some are brown. Some are pink. Some have tattoos. Some have bruises. But one thing they have in common is that they’re hanging out in the village for everyone to see. Attendees of this sexy party are strongly encouraged to wear only jockstraps (clothes check is available). DJ Joshua Reid spins. Afterparty at Steamworks.
Saturday, Dec 5, 10:30pm. The Black Eagle, 457 Church St. facebook.com/jockpartyto

Platinum Holiday Special
A log is crackling on the fire. Everyone has their sweaters on. Dad’s in his chair with a glass of scotch, listening to a little Dean Martin on the hi-fi. It’s like the 1950s vomited all over this place. A Platinum Production presents its third annual ’50s and ’60s holiday TV special-inspired drag and burlesque-filled cabaret. Includes a post-show mixer and dance party.
Friday, Dec 4, 7:30 and 10pm. Buddies in Bad Times, 12 Alexander St. buddiesinbadtimes.com
Shut Up, it’s Christmas
How did Mr and Mrs Kringle meet? What did Santa do before he started giving out toys? What did saucy Mrs K do before she met her beloved Kris? How many songs about home can Thom Allison stuff into a medley? Joined by Lola Kringle (that’s Mrs Claus to you), Allison’s annual story and song-filled cabaret answers these and many other questions.
Saturday, Dec 5, and Friday, Dec 11, 8pm. Buddies in Bad Times, 12 Alexander St. buddiesinbadtimes.com
