No Pants Dance Party

We could all afford to be a little less uptight about things like nudity. Rockalily Burlesque’s ninth annual underwear dance includes music by DJ Lowpass and performances by Oliver Easy, Saffron St James, Eldritch Mor, Sassy Ray and Helvetica Bold. This event is very body positive (and, according to billing, “bawdy positive”) and queer and trans friendly.

10pm. Babylon, 317 Bank St. For more info, visit Facebook.

LGBT Patio Dance Party

Canadian winter can be a long, dreary affair — especially in Ottawa — and summer often feels like the tiniest blip if you don’t make the most of it. In other words, it’s patio season, and just across the bridge, in Old Hull, there’s a big queer patio party at a microbrewery. It includes socializing and dancing to DJ Ben’s music.

10:30pm. Gainsbourg, 9 Aubry St, Gatineau. facebook.com/gainsbourglegionnaire

I’m Coming! A Guide to Women’s Orgasm

Many women never orgasm. Or only seem to do it once in a while. Or can only do it on their own. Or only with others. In short, it can be complicated. This workshop explores the ins and outs of orgasms. It explores such questions as: Why are they so elusive sometimes? How can you enhance your pleasure (alone or with a partner)?

6:30pm. Venus Envy, 226 Bank St. venusenvy.ca

Thursday, July 14

Queers and Beers: Queers in the Courtyard

Queers socialize and have some fancy drinks outdoors on some cobblestones. This is the glitter and prosecco-drenched edition of Queering613’s monthly queer craft beer event. Each month, everyone gets together and takes over a new location to enjoy some beer (or other drinks) and make new friends over some fun activities.

5pm. Social Restaurant and Lounge, 537 Sussex Dr. facebook.com/queering613

Friday, July 15

Group Sex 101. (Orlando Cerrochi)

Group Sex 101

Have you ever tried to make a decision by committee? Well, group sex can be a bit like that, but potentially dangerous and a lot more emotionally-charged. So, sex educator Luna Matatas is facilitating a workshop on the ins and outs of group sex. How do you find this kind of sex? How do you negotiate with partners? How do you reduce risk?

8:30pm. Venus Envy, 226 Bank St. venusenvy.ca
