Queer and Questioning Trivi-UH-night

Billed as a trivia night like no other, The Queer Mafia’s event features the ultra-queer categories Queering Quotient, Feminist Crushes, Everyone Loves Baby Animal Videos, A Brief Hirstory of Queer and Know Your Homophobe. All proceeds go to The Queer Mafia’s Community Fund.

Hosanna

Toto Too Theatre’s latest production is Michel Tremblay’s Hosanna. First performed in Quebec in 1973, the play centres on the relationship between a drag queen named Hosanna (dressed as Elizabeth Taylor’s Cleopatra) and an aging gay biker named Cuirette.

Hard Cover Book Club

Alison Wearing’s childhood was fairly typical up until it was revealed that her croissant-baking, silk pajama-wearing dad was gay. It caused quite a stir in quiet 1970s Peterborough, Ontario. Men gather to discuss Wearing’s memoir, Confessions of a Fairy’s Daughter: Growing Up with a Gay Dad.

Sashay: Winter Party

Ottawa’s big quarterly gay and lesbian dance party returns with headliner DJ Sandy Duperval from Montreal spinning vocal-heavy house. It also has more drag and burlesque than you can shake a boa at, with performances by Markida Brown, Icesis Couture, Koston Kreme and Jasmine Dymond.

Tuesday, Jan 26

The Big O: Tips and Tricks for Bigger, Better and More Frequent Orgasms

You know how to have an orgasm, but you want to expand your repertoire. This workshop, centred on improving female orgasms (but everyone is welcome to attend), covers such topics as multiple orgasms, g- and p-spot orgasms, bigger orgasms and solo and partnered play.

Acceptance Day

The Algonquin Queer Student Alliance’s day of talks and workshops focuses on promoting acceptance in a variety of forms. It is hoped that the event will foster a safer environment at the college and increase awareness of the needs of queer students. Open to the general public.

The Big One: VE 15th Anniversary Party

To celebrate a decade and a half of selling you strapons, binders and books, and teaching you how to tie each other up and have better orgasms, Venus Envy throws a big anniversary dance party. Includes music by headliner Marshia Celina, and bootblacking by Beth.
