Gaymer Night at Swizzles: Dixit

Six players get hands of oversized cards decorated with interesting images. The active player gives a phrase to explain what’s on his card, and the others must try to match up the definition with the cards in their own hands. Those who don’t want to play Dixit can play any of the other fast-paced card games on hand, or such classic board games as Scrabble and Clue.

6pm. Swizzles, 2246 Queen St. For more info, visit Facebook.

Canada’s Capital Kings: 3rd Annual Mr Chick Magnet

He’s well-dressed, he can lip sync, he’s got the swagger and his mustache would make Burt Reynolds feel inadequate — yes, he’s Mr Chick Magnet. The drag king troupe Canada’s Capital Kings hosts its third annual drag king pageant — who will be the next Mr Chick Magnet? It includes the step down of last year’s titleholder, Cyril Cinder.

7:30pm. Zaphod Beeblebrox, 27 York St. facebook.com/canadascapitalkings

Sashay: 1st Anniversary

One of Ottawa’s new queer dance parties celebrates a milestone. A year ago, it launched at the massive bar Barrymore’s with a big name DJ, drag performers, go-go dancers and more. Now the quarterly party is back with the DJ who helped launch it all — DJ Stephan Grondin — and performances by Kiki Coe, Koko Shennel, Markida Brown and Jasmine Dymond.

10pm. Barrymore’s, 323 Bank St. facebook.com/sashayottawa

Oh My Jam: Spring is Here . . . Lettuce Turnip the Beet

The Queer Mafia’s recurring party is a huge success with queers who are fall-on-your-face gaga over hip hop, R&B, trap, reggae and soca. They’re kicking off the warm part of the year with a party where Ottawa’s DJ Keuro is joined by Toronto’s DJ Blackcat to provide a night of great music. Proceeds go to The Queer Mafia’s community sponsorships, and Queer Pride in August.

10pm. Babylon, 317 Bank St. facebook.com/thequeermafia
