For one week in September the best and brightest of the motion picture industry converge for the Toronto International Film Festival. In collaboration with Xtra.ca and OUTtv, host Matt Thomas chased down the best of the queer stories from the 2007 festival. We’ll be releasing a new segment right here each week. Don’t miss any of them. And don’t forget to tune-in to OUTtv for the complete series and our special presentation coverage of the whole event, coming soon.

IN CONVERSATION WITH NOAH COWAN:
Toronto International Film Festival Codirector Noah Cowan chats with Matt Thomas about the queer films on offer at the 2007 festival.
“What we’ve seen in gay and lesbian film making is a real hunger for diversity,” says Cowan. “We’re seeing all these different stories from different parts of the world offering a different take on what it means to be a gay man in northern Japan or what a lesbian love affair looks like in preapartheid South Africa. These are great because then you’re dealing with different ideas about what we are.”
