Lady X, 1979-2011

Tireless, intrepid queen

Todd Andrew Long, aka Lady X, died suddenly on Feb 8. He was 31.

I originally met Todd as Lady X at what was then Vice bar. I thought his performance was very retro, full of heart and totally fresh. When I introduced myself, he was gracious and sweet, and we soon became friends who’d bump into each other out on the scene.

It was always a pleasure to take his photo and catch up over a cocktail. Later, I came to know him as Todd, and looking back now, I can’t think of a time when his presence didn’t automatically brighten my mood.

He was a lovely man, a great performer, and it was my pleasure to share any place or time with him. He will be missed immeasurably by all who knew him.
