A recent Michigan MOJO in the Morning broadcast that had hosts gossiping about the alleged affair between LeAnn “You’re the Right Kind of Wrong” Rimes and actor Eddie Cibrian (Third Watch, Ugly Betty) has put Rimes’ husband, dancer Dean Sheremet, in the middle of a homo hurricane.
On Mar 7 US Weekly caught the country pop singer and her chisel-jawed Northern Lights costar in the middle of an amorous rendezvous at Laguna Beach sushi restaurant Mosun/Club M.
Cibrian, who’s married to model Brandi Glanville, immediately denounced the images published in US. “Other than being friends and two actors who were romantically intertwined in a movie-for-television we filmed last fall, there is no truth to the reporting initiated by US magazine,” he told Access Hollywood. “It is a fabricated story that is using random snapshots as connective tissue to create a scandalous relationship.”
US responded by releasing the actual video footage from Mosun’s in-house security camera. Witness as Rimes and Cibrian hold hands and make out — not to mention the part where Rimes sucks on Cibrian’s fingers. And, alleges US, on Mar 14, the pair met for a three-hour no-tell-motel romp at the Malibu Beach Inn.
On Mar 18 Rimes posted this vague communiqué on her website: “This is a difficult time for me and my loved ones, but I appreciate all your continued support. I would like to assure all of you that this is a place for you to hear things directly from me and as you all know, not everything in our lives is always black and white. Have faith, Le.”
And Sheremet, who was among Rimes’ backup dancers until the two exchanged vows in 2002, took to Twitter where he noted, “I love my wife!”
Enter MOJO. While the disc jockeys bantered about the affair, a woman named Pebbles called the station. Identifying herself as Sheremet’s cousin, she said, “I know the reason he doesn’t care is because he’s gay…. He’s been gay since he was probably five. He never came completely out but there’s so much stuff that he did as a kid and as a teenager. The family used to make bets on what age he would come out — and then all of a sudden he got married.”
Then an alleged former dance student of Sheremet dialed in: “I used to actually dance with Dean for a long time. He’s definitely gay.”
A woman claiming to have worked with several of Sheremet’s high school alumni at a Michigan restaurant said, “They called him Dancer Dean. They were surprised that he got married because they said they knew he was gay in high school the whole time.”
This isn’t the first time Sheremet’s sexuality has been under siege. At the 2005 Seventh on Sale HIV/AIDS benefit, Sheremet allegedly divided his time between doting on Rimes and ogling the men. More recently, sources claim to have caught Sheremet on numerous occasions in the midst of giving blowjobs to makeup artist Neil Robertson (who has also worked with Rimes).
Rimes’ rep has since fired off this witty dismissal of the MOJO mess: “Although Dean and LeAnn never knew they had a cousin named Pebbles, they are glad to hear that she has come out of the woodwork. Dean and LeAnn are also interested in connecting with their other long lost family members: Fred, Wilma, Barney and Bamm-Bamm. So Pebbles, please let us know if you have spoken to them, too.”
Fashion design maverick Marc Jacobs and Brazilian ad exec Lorenzo Martone, now one year into their relationship, have gotten engaged. No date has been set but Martone recently told media: “We experienced a really great vacation in St Barth’s recently. It was during the winter in December. It was super warm, people were relaxed, tanned and we were having an amazing time with our friends. So why not? Maybe a New Year’s Eve wedding in St Barth’s would be really fun.”
The pair reportedly just forked over $13 million for 4500 square feet of luxury in NYC’s West Village. The Bethune St townhouse includes a rooftop terrace and private garden.
