Dutch lesbian speed skater celebrates Olympic gold

Dutch skater Ireen Wüst won an Olympic gold medal in the women’s 1,500m speedskating finals on Sunday night. Canada’s Kristina Groves placed second.

Wüst came out in a 2009 interview with Dutch media, when she casually mentioned that she has a girlfriend — fellow speed skater Sanne van Kerkhof.
