Ottawa's Bluesfest kicks off to great sounds

Summer is finally here, and with it comes the onslaught of music festivals. As the Jazz Festival tents were being torn down, the Bluesfest kicked off its 10-day music extravaganza.

On Tuesday, July 5, local musicians and international rockers knocked out sounds that got the crowds raving and the fans flocking to the front of the stage.

On the opening night, local artist Lindsay Ferguson played alongside California band Flaming Lips and queer icons Tegan and Sara.

Xtra has been interviewing some of the musicians, so stay tuned. In the meantime, check out our interview with Ferguson and the slideshow of the Flaming Lips and Tegan and Sara.
