The Reading List for Aug 5, 2014

This edition of The Reading List is more of a viewing list, but after a long weekend, there is nothing wrong with starting things off nice and easy.

– First things first, Laverne Cox is still out promoting Orange Is the New Black, and she is still exemplifies poise when she is being interviewed. After dealing with — and teaching — Katie Couric and Wendy Williams, Cox finds herself gently giving CBS This Morning’s Gayle King a teachable moment in how to discuss the lives of trans people.

– Speaking of OINTB, the majority of the cast were on Conan O’Brien’s show this week and had quite a lot of fun with Coco.

– Bruce LaBruce was recently interviewed by the gang here at Xtra. Check out this video interview in which he discusses his latest film, Gerontophilia.

– Sam Smith has a new video out, this time for “I’m Not the Only One.

Smith was also recently featured performing “Latch,” with his friends Disclosure, on Jimmy Kimmel.

Enjoy!
