Popping culture: Pussy Riot releases new video

After having members of their band charged with hooliganism, jailed and subsequently released, Pussy Riot is in the news once again.

The band has released a new video entitled “Putin Will Teach You to Love the Motherland.” The video includes clips of the balaclava-clad members travelling around Sochi, interacting with Olympic mascots, and even being horsewhipped by Russian police. It was arguably the last incident that brought Pussy Riot back into focus for many members of the media and the public. You can view the video of the beating here.
