This morning on CBC Radio’s current affairs program Q, Halifax filmmaker Paul-Émile d’Entremont spoke about his latest film, Last Chance.
Produced by the NFB, d’Entremont’s film follows five queer immigrants to Canada, all of them vying for refugee status based on persecution due to their sexuality or gender identity. D’Entremont spoke about the project with Xtra last fall. In his interview with Q’s Gill Deacon, d’Entremont speaks about the issues that many refugees face when trying to stay in Canada, including having to prove that they are gay or lesbian.
