Enough of the droning circuit party beats! Get ready for Plastic 03, a compilation of uplifting electronica from Vancouver’s Nettwerk label. This much anticipated release includes remixes and new tracks unavailable elsewhere.
Most satisfying is Sarah McLachlan’s “I Love You” remixed by BT (well known for his collaborations with Tori Amos), which has already found a place on the dance charts this month. Also included is “Dreaming,” a fantastic new track by BT, which precedes the release of his new album later this month.
“Heaven’s Earth,” a trancey new song by Delerium peaks the mood of the CD, with ethereal vocals by Kristy Thirsk, and remixing by Matt Darey.
The huge European hits “Xpander” by DJ Sasha, and Moloko’s “Sing it Back” blend the new with the familiar.
Songs by Moby, Filter, Povi, Beth Orton and The Chemical Brothers, although diverse in their styles, offer a tantalizing mood fuelled by variation.
