LA Gay & Lesbian Center anniversary a star-studded affair

Neil Patrick Harris, Chaz Bono and Jane Lynch mark 40 years

The Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center celebrated its 40th anniversary in true Hollywood style by inviting an A-list roster of gay celebrities to its fundraiser.

Leslie Jordan had the crowd laughing with his interpretation of the four decades since the centre opened. No one was safe, not even Madonna.

Glee’s Jane Lynch presented the Rand Schrader Distinguished Achievement Award to How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris and his partner, David Burtka. The couple, who have twins, have become go-to gay parents for magazine cover shots.

Actor David Arquette talked about his sister’s journey as a trans person. Arquette presented Chaz Bono with the Board of Directors’ Award. Bono talked about his history with the centre and the importance of the work it does.

Below are clips from the event.
