Margaret Atwood’s Penelopiad at Buddies

Megan Follows stars in Nightwood Theatre production

The Penelopiad, written by Margaret Atwood, is being mounted by Nightwood Theatre at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre. The all-female cast is led by veteran Canadian actor Megan Follows.

Atwood’s play is a revision of Homer’s Odyssey told from the point of view of Odysseus’s wife, Penelope, who tells her story and the story of her 12 murdered handmaidens.

This is the Toronto premiere of The Penelopiad, and it is directed by Kelly Thornton, the artistic director of Nightwood Theatre.
