Rufus Wainwright is back. The singer has returned to the world of popular culture after indulging in some higher-art pursuits, such as the writing and producing of his opera, Prima Donna.
“I did develop this yearning for where I’d come from, which is a freer, younger, sexier existence, which was the world of pop,” Wainwright says in an interview with Xtra.
His latest CD, Out of the Game, will be released in Canada on April 24. In the interview below, Wainwright talks about pop culture, Helena Bonham Carter and the role his daughter played in the creation of his new CD.
