Jake Gyllenhaal stars in End of Watch

Ugly Betty's America Ferrera plays lesbian cop

End of Watch ain’t no Brokeback Mountain. And, other than a tough-cop lesbian character played by Ugly Betty‘s America Ferrera, it’s really not gay.

But when you have an opportunity to interview Hollywood heartthrob Jake Gyllenhaal while he is in town for the Toronto International Film Festival, you just say yes. And you make it a gay story by throwing in a question about Brokeback Mountain.

“It was a challenging movie,” Gyllenhaal says. “I’m very proud of that movie. It was one of those experiences. The way people responded to it was extraordinary.”

End of Watch opens in theatres across North America on Sept 21. Below is a video interview with Gyllenhaal and his co-stars.
