Chill out in Mexico

Join drag legend Sofonda Cox and Proud FM's Mike Chalut on the beach

A stone’s throw offshore from Cancun is the lush, tropical Isla Mujeres. And it will be the sunny place to be this winter for Air Canada Vacations’ all-gay Beach Ball Chill Out getaway.

For one week, starting Jan 20, the entire four-star Isla Mujeres Palace will be devoted to queer travellers and their friends.

Isla Mujeres Palace resort was voted TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice 2012 and was included in the Top 25 All-Inclusive Resorts in Mexico.

The Chill Out package features accommodation in a deluxe guestroom with double Jacuzzi, meals, snacks and unlimited drinks. Welcome cocktail and beach parties are included on the roster of events. Entertainment includes Toronto drag legend Sofonda Cox, with Proud FM’s Mike Chalut on hand as celebrity host.

Chill Out packages range in price from $1,390 for a Toronto departure to $1,686 from Montreal. There are also departures from Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg and Halifax.

Packages include a $500-per-room resort credit to be used toward day trips to ruins, snorkelling trips or for the resort’s spa. As well as lounging on the beach, refreshing in the pool and exploring the island, there’ll be outings to gay nightlife in downtown Cancun.
