Colin Firth has been nominated for a best actor award at the Oscars for his portrayal of a gay professor in A Single Man.
Asked about his chance of winning, Firth told the UK’s Metro: “God knows. I’m trying not to think about it. You don’t know how
much you’ve vested in something until you have a disappointment.”

Firth is going up against Jeff Bridges (Crazy Heart), George Clooney (Up in the Air), Morgan Freeman (Invictus) and Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker).
