Avoid gay sex during Qatar World Cup: FIFA boss

Hosting the 2022 World Cup in the Middle East will help foster understanding between cultures, says FIFA prez Sepp Blatter. But that understanding doesn’t extend to gays — World Cup fans should abstain from gay sex while at the games, he says. The BBC reports:

Blatter said that homosexual fans “should refrain from any sexual activities” that are illegal in Qatar. Drinking alcohol also is restricted in the country, but Blatter hopes soccer’s universal appeal will bridge cultural differences at the 2022 World Cup. “It’s another culture and another religion, but in football we have no boundaries,” said Blatter.

Maybe we should introduce FIFA to Downtown Soccer Toronto, the coed soccer club for gay, lesbian, bi, trans and queer-friendly players in the GTA. It announced this summer it was launching a sexy fundraiser to fight homophobia in sport. See photos of its charity calendar below, or find out more about it on their website.
