Sick of Westboro Baptist Church? Do something about it

The Westboro Church is a bunch of inbred psychopaths. Everyone knows that. I try not to acknowledge their existence because they’re such transparent attention whores, but their latest antics are hard to ignore.

After one of Westboro’s members, Shirley Phelps-Roper, tweeted her praise to God for the senseless massacre of 26 people at Sandy Hook Elementary, including 20 children, all ages six or seven years old, and promised that Westboro would picket the school to celebrate God’s judgment, many people were understandably outraged. The furor has grown so intense that there is now an official White House petition calling for the American government to label Westboro what it is: a hate group.

As of now, the petition has beat its goal of 25,000 signatures, with over 62,000 signed. It might not make them go away, but I encourage everyone to sign, because it’s about time these cretins were discredited as being anything near holy. The petition is going to end up on President Obama’s desk Jan 3, 2013, and since he is a leader who actually cares about the sentiments of his citizens, there’s a decent chance that their feelings toward Westboro will be officially recognized. God doesn’t hate fags, or soldiers, or innocent children who were shot up to 11 times each. God doesn’t even hate Westboro’s members. But if you do, then here’s your chance to do something about it.

Don’t worry, it’s not all up to you. Anonymous is back, with an eerie new video, promising to dismantle the church. “We will waste no time, money, effort and enjoyment in tearing your resolves into pieces,” Anonymous promises. “We are coming. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us.”

Oh, shit. The end is near!
