A JIHAD FOR LOVE:

SYNOPSIS: Director Parvez Sharma’s sometimes chilling documentary explores the lives of queer Muslims across 12 countries and in nine languages. “A sexual revolution of immense proportions was part of the very birth of Islam,” Sharma tells Out at TIFF host Matt Thomas. “There was the promise of gender equality… and there was stress on the sexual act just for pleasure beyond reproduction.”
